Housed on 4 floors of a fictional building, OneLab VR contains a 50,000-square-foot facility focused on clinical and public health laboratory training. OneLab VR includes 12 different labs, more than 100 (and counting) lab-specific equipment, and a variety of accessible, customizable, and multiplayer tools.

We’ve worked extensively with lab architects, designers, safety experts, and lab community members to create this virtual training space for your training needs. From the physical size and location of the lab environment to simple things like the placement of fire alarms and sprinkler systems, it has been rigorously researched, tested, and vetted for users like you.

The U.S. Centers for Disease Control will release quarterly OneLab VR updates that include tutorials, additional standalone training, multiplayer scenarios, and accessibility tools. Currently, OneLab VR offers a tutorial scenario where learners who are new to VR will experience the basics of navigating a lab environment, a packing and shipping scenario, a focus on properly packing a sample for air freight, and a centrifuge scenario that focuses on loading and operating a micro refuge and a high-speed bucket centrifuge.
