About this game:
Built by planetary scientists, the Space Portal shows you a highly accurate, real-time view of spacecraft orbiting Earth, Mars, and the Moon. Every month, a new spacecraft orbits the Earth, and the International Space Station is always available. If possible, new missions to the Moon and Mars will be added.
As you fly past the Moon and Mars, you can access information about their geological features and the vehicles that landed there. On Earth, you can access information about cities and other natural features.
There is a wide variety of music to choose from. You can also customize your experience by flying without any geographical coverage. You can choose to zoom in on the appearance of the planets to see where they are in the sky.
The lighting you see is perceptually accurate, so city lights, sunlight, and moonlight effects are realistically generated – just like what you see when you’re there. In fact, if you fly past the Moon or Mars at night, you will only see darkness. The included night light helps you see what’s underneath.
Because Space Portal displays a real-time view: what you see is exactly what others who use the system see.
Finally, you also have the option to fly with Carl the toucan. After all, it can be a bit lonely in space! Every time you feed an animal friend, you’ll earn points that unlock new animal friends to join you.
