This fun and engaging molecule builder will help you test your chemistry knowledge.
No problem – we’ll give you tips to help you recover your learning memory.
There are three levels.
First, you can practice understanding how atoms in a molecule are bonded. You will create links between atoms to form 3D molecules. You can check if the molecule is stable before you can even move on to the next step.
Once you’re done building the molecule. You can select one and apply a VSEPR model to predict the geometry of the molecule. Maybe you know where we’re going. This is an important first step in being able to predict the polarity of a molecule.
The last exercise is to determine the polarity of the intermolecular bond and thus the overall polarity of the molecule. You will calculate the vector force between each atom and its direction.
Look for tips along the way. It’s a fun way to get hands-on with all the theories in the textbook.
