RetroGameDev VR is a standalone Meta Quest app – a machine that’s part craft, part hands-on workshop: learn how retro hardware really works, create your own games, play them around the room, and export them to run on real retro machines.

Create and reproduce

Start with a template game and make it your own. Use the built-in editor to redraw sprite images, repaint color palettes, design backgrounds, and compose sounds and music.

Play with your creations

Play your own games on three displays in any bedroom – a desktop monitor close by, a large screen TV in the room, or a handheld game you pick up.

Flip to mixed reality at any time. The bedroom will drop down from the passthrough with the screen floating in the air – recustomize it, move it and play in your own room.

Export to real hardware

This is where it leaves the application. Transform your creation into a functional go-kart and launch a true retro machine – real hardware, not a copycat.
