After filming “Sweet Bean” in 2015, Japanese director Naomi Kawase has always wanted to make a comedy that challenges her and overturns her natural and poetic style, and tells the story of Aya, a young woman who is confused about her own body through “Oh Debu.”
Master Rhapsody is a five-part VR documentary series that gives unmade films a chance to be seen. Using accommodating techniques, the filmmakers Abel Ferrara, Tsai Ming-Liang, Catherine Hardwicke, Lee Myung-Se and Naomi Kawase tell us the key points and concepts of these films and why they were never made.
Originally created by Joseph Beauregard and directed by French director Clément Deneux, the series is co-produced by Atlas V, ARTE France, the British BBC, PTS, Serendipity Films, Wild Fang Films (Luxembourg) and Giioii Korea. It is supported by CNC, Pictanovo, Région Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes, Procirep-Angoa, TAICCA, Luxembourg Film Foundation, RAPA and the Ministry of Science and Technology Intelligence Communications (South Korea).
