Hi, I’m Max! I’ve been developing this mod since 2017 with the help of some lovely people. And now it’s finally on Steam!
It is highly configurable and supports all past, present, and future VR hardware through a VR input system that leverages SteamVR. Default input bindings for some controller types are included, but depending on your needs, you may want to choose community-made bindings or configure your own. You can play sitting or standing, using free movement or teleportation, touch buttons, grab bars and climb ladders. Oh, and catching, throwing, and playing baseball with head crabs.
I really want to give a shout-out to Rorin, Formic.Sapien, and DoomMarine23 for their help with this mod in the 2D and 3D departments, especially the beautiful 6DoF weapon models, high-resolution textures, amazing VR hands, and female scientists. And the brilliant voice artist Katie Otten re-recorded all the original scientists’ voice lines specifically for this mod, making Black Mesa’s promise of an “equal opportunity employer” finally come true.
If you don’t want any glitter, you can enable “Classic Mode” in the settings and get it through SD models and crisp and crisp low-resolution textures (no muddy blurry crap!). Dive into the unaltered 1998 vanilla experience – only in VR.
